Early NZ Exploration

 Kupe and Cook are two important explorers in new Zealand history.

 Captain Cook is a British explorer. Captain Cook arrived in New Zealand in 6 October 1769. Captain Cook came to New Zealand because to trade for gold. Captain Cook got to New Zealand in a big boat.
Kupe arrived in New Zealand in the 1100's. He travelled by traditional methods it he follow a giant octopus. He did this voyage to find new land to live. His wife name New Zealand Aotearoa after seeing mountains under the clouds. 


Kupe is important because he was the first documented person in New Zealand. Cook is important because he mapped new Zealand and oped ti up to the world to access.
