First waka

Originally there were no people in New Zealand. The first people to settle In New Zealand come in a series of waka.

The ten waka are, Mataatua, Tākitimu, Tainui, Te Arawa,Aotea,Tokomaru,Horouta,Uruao, and 
Ārai-te-uru.  

The most of the waka visited the North Island. Some of the places the wakas land at, Te Waewae bay, Te awanui, and Waiapu river.

The ten wakes came to New Zealand to discover New lands for people to live.
