Properties of sound

Properties means something belong to someone or something.

Sound can travel around corners. Sound can travel in every direction. Sound is louder when it is closer to the source.

Mr Wong proved sound could travel around corners. He clapped around the corner with his meter and the sound was record on the meter.

Mr Wong proved that sound can travel in every direction. Mr Wong made sound around the source with his phone. The meter recorded the sound at dB.

Lastly, Mr Wong proved sound louder when closer to the source. Mr Wong had two meters on each side of the room. Mr Wong clapped next to one meter. One meter record a small decibel and the other recorded a bigger decibel.

Homophone, Homonyms, and Homographs are a special groups of words that many people mix up and get confused with.

 Homophones are words that are spelt differently,  sound the same , but don't mean the same. For example I rode to school. Road is something that a car drives on and rode is when you ride your bike somewhere.

Homographs are words that have the same spelling but you say it differently and do not mean the same. Like lead and lead. lead is a heavy metal and lead is to guide someone.

Homonyms are words that sound the same, have the same spelling, but different meaning. For example scale and scale.
Scale is fish skin and scale is for weighting people.

Egyptian numbers

This week I learnt about ancient Egyptian numbers. The Egyptian numbers are line, flower, man one his knees, quail, finger, and long rope, and a short rope.. The number for the flower is thousand.The number for the man the is on his knees is million.


The number for the frog is hundred thousand. The number for the finger is ten thousand.
The number for the coil is hundred. Long rope is ten, and the short rope is one.

I had to make a slide. I had to make the number with a abacus, blocks, place value house, and Egyptian numbers.
 

Mask art

This week I made geometric art. Geometric means shapes.  I used a paper  called glossy. 
There was one side with glossy and the other side was ruff.

I used green tape. We had to section one by one. Section means cut one row.
Then I had to colour.

I used, blue, dark blue, gold, green, purple, pink, red, yellow, and silver.
 had to take the green tape off. When I saw it it was looking cool.

reading

I Found words in the book and grouped them into verbs, adjectives, and descriptive language. 
Verb is a moving action like walking and running.
An adjectives is a describing word, and descriptive language is almost the same like adjectives.
I had to read a book called the crocodile's Christmas jandals.

 I had to use my action words. We had to take the word from the book, then link this to the other tense of that verb.

SSR Selfie

I read a book called My Granddad munches on Anzac day.
The book is about a girl that look for his Granddad that is munching on Anzac day prayed.
The Granddad told the little girl where the war happens. This a is a cool book to read!

Light and Sound

I found things that make light and things that make sound.

I organised things that make light on the left and I had to find thing that make sounds and organise it on the right.

Then I had to connect the line to the one the make light or sounds.

Homophone, punctuation, capital latter, and Fan boys are special to writing.

A fanboy is an conjunctions. Fan boy is used to put to thought together. Fanboy mean F For, A And, N Nor, B But,O Or, Y Yet and S So.

Punctuation are Full stop, Comma, Exclamation mark, and  Question Mark.
Full stop is to make on complete thought. A comma is to make pause between thought.

Capital letters are used after a Full stop.

Reading sumrising the main idea

For reading I had to read sumerise a book called kiwi you save the tree.
The main people are kiwi Tane-mahuta, and Tane-hokahoka. In the book Tane-hokahoka heard a booming call. Tane-hokahoka went in to the forest were the booming call came from. The leaves we dark the insects were eating the tree. Tane-manta ask kiwi to eat the insects to save the tree. Then kiwi was eating the insect and save the tree.   Then I had to surmise the story in to 25 words or less words.

Number sentence Oder

Maths problems are written in a special Oder called  a number sentences.

The first number is a number sentences tell number that adds or subtracted.

The second number is the number sentences tells numbers that adds or subtracted

Number sentences can not be changed other wise whole meaning change.

Letter home

This week I have been learning about sending a letter home as if I was at war. I had to make a google doc. It was about sending a letter home when you are at war. It was fun because I had to imagine I was in the treches.
I used information I had learnt in previous weeks to help me describe the situation I was in.

Survival kits

I have been learning about event and effect. Effect Describe the effect that these would have had on the soldiers and their families back home. A event is what information can you find about each of these events from in ww1 or ww2. After that I had to make a slide. Then I had to look for things that we put in my survival kits.

Certificate that I earned

I got a certificate.  It was about outstanding work with my blog post this week

Anzac Day

LI To use adjectives to describe.
This week for reading we needed to use adjectives to describe ANZAC Soldiers.
The words are, Scad, Happy, Sad, Brave, Healthy, Ruthless, Trenchy, Fast, Smart, Slow, Weak, Strong, Funny, Stupid, Smart, Well trained, mercenary, SkillfulSoldier, Self defence, and frustrated. These my are the words that describes a Soldier. I then used a Word Cloud to create these words as a poppy to add to my poster.
