This week we have been learning about fact and opinion. I read a story the was a long time ago it's called The legend of rahi.
The story was about Rahi trying to save his wife from the patuapara. In the story the game Ki o rahi was made by rahi and his village.
Fact is something that was known or has happened. Opinion is what you think. For example My opinion is that Naki is cooler than me.
I am a Year 7 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

Maths
I learnt to use different strategies to solve equations using all four operations/multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction. A strategy is a plan to complete a task.
Some of our equations:
Our first equation was 84 - 7. We used four different strategies to solve this equation. One of our strategy was the number line. We first started off at 77 then added 3 to get to a tidy number which was 80. The added 4 to get to 84.
Our second equation was 1.5 - 0.885. We used three different strategies. One of our strategy was the written algorithm. We first started by adding 0.885 + 0.005 = 0.890. Then 0.890 + 0.010 = 1.0. Lastly I added 1.0 + 0.5 = 1.5.

Swimming
This week for kiwi sport It was our first session of swimming. My teacher for swimming is Shanti. I learnt different skills at the laogen pool.
First I practiced how to entey the pool safly.
Next I practiced how to stream line. I also learnt how to breath using the stream line.
Lastly I practied how to dolpen dive.
I enjoyed swimming . It was hard because I had to move my legs and breathe under water. Thanks to Shanti who taught me how to breath using the stream line.

Writing
The learning was about synonyms, adverbs, verbs, nouns, and adjectives. Synonyms are words that is almost the same meaning. For example warm, hot, and heat are synonyms.
Adverbs are words that describe the way that something happens. For example, often, finally, and quickly are adverbs.
Verbs are words that are doing word also as a action. For example say, get and go are verbs.
Nouns are words that are name, person, animal, place, and thing or idea. For example, man, woman, and child are nouns.
Adjectives are describing words. For example, warm, cold, and big are adjectives.
This hleps me because I know about them when I read a book or some one ask me a question.

I enjoy make animals using the paper. It was hard because I had to find all the right pieces and place it where is suppsed to be.

Volleyball
In kiwi sport we learnt a new skill. This skill is called a spike. A spike is used to hit the ball down when the ball is next to the net. Because so you can score a point
Make sure to hit the ball in the air, but don't hit the ball when touching the ground. This is because the ball will hit the net.
To spike in volleyball, start by putting both feet together. Run and jump to the ball. Put both feet together just before jumping.

Coding Angles
This week for maths we learnted about Coding, and Angles. We learned coding and angles using a website called pencil.com.
I traveled location to location using coding and angles. The location were, Sky Tower, Cape Reinga, North Head, Beehive, and Aoraki. The first location I went to was Cape Reinga.
I will be telling you how I got to my three locations. I started at the sky tower, I turned 49 degrees anticlockwise and I moved foward 370m. When I got to Cape Ringa I had to travel to to North head.
I turned anticlockwise 147 and I went foward 450, I got to North head. When I got to North head I travled to Aoraki. I turned anticlockwise 69 and I went foward 390.
