Cawa of care

LI. Be cybersmart and use our devices.
Today we did a task called kawa of care. We had to find all the top keyboard shortcuts. For example ctrl z is a shortcut for backspace. After understanding all the shortcuts it helps you finish your work faster. I thought that this activity was hard because there was a long list we had to find a shortcut.

The Treaty Waitangi

Today we I summarised a book called The Treaty of Waitangi This story is about Maori asking British for help because other country were going to take of the Maori land. For my task I had to find 20 important words that inside of the book. We had to take 6 from the 20 important words. Then I use the 6 words to make a sentences.

Hydration and Dehydration

Today we found the meaning for hydration and dehydration. After defining hydration and dehydration we worked collaboratively to use our smart searching skills to help us find facts that would teach others why it is important for our health and learning. It's important to learnt about health because you might die. Finding out about hydration and dehydration was interesting because I found out that if you drink more water your urine is clear. I found this activity a little bit hard because I didn't know how to explain what hydration and dehydration meant.

Leadership

Today me and my group explained what leadership is. We had 4 words to break down and explain, the words were Role Model, Leadership, Team and Responsibility. To be a leader you must have a group. A group is a team that works together. Role model is when you show that you have good behaviour towards others. Team is when you work collaboratively with others in a positive way. Responsibility is when you take control of someone. Something that we found interesting was that you don’t have to be a leader to lead a group.

pie charts

This week for maths me and my group made a pie chart that shows which sport the students in LS2 likes.

We learned that the most liked sport in LS2  was rugby and that the least favorite sports were netball, tennis and mma.

We then also created a DLO showing our PIE chart. Next we wrote information about our pie chart so our reader

and ourselves understand what we learned, what we did and what was the most favorite sport. This was a fun and

cool activity.

Summary of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

LI:  To explain in fewer words what the text is about

Today I read a book called Te Tiriti O waitangi. This book was about the moari signing the Treaty of Waitangi to join the British empire and about why it is important to Maori culture. For my task I looked for 20 important words that I found in the book. I then chose 6 of the words from the 20 that I found. I used the 6 words I found to summarise a sentence paragraph about the Treaty of Waitangi.  The Treaty of waitangi is important to Maori culture because it is an important historical part of their culture. A interesting fact that I learnt today was the Maori have been living on New Zealand for five hundred years.
