The blog post was about his illusion. I thought his illusion was amazing. My questioon was, was it hard making you illusion.
This week I traslated maori and matched.
I learnt what What are you doing today. In Maori it's, koe te aha i tenei ra? Then wematched the word were it was goes. For example, taka poitukou is baskitball.
This was challenging because I did't know what the maori sentences.
This week I completed optical illusions.
I made a optical illusion. I found a photo that I could copy. The optical illusions was a squarel illusions. This illusion was made by NemuWood. NemuWood created the photo that I copy.
This week we made kowhaiwai patten.
My kowhaiwai patten represent my family. In the kowhaiwai patten it had: Siister, me, brother, grandmother, grandad, dad, and mum.
When I was making this it was hard because i didn't know what patten to do.
This week we made incense using nacher.
We went out side and found things that we could make. The insects I made was called a butterfly. I grab: two small leaves, two big leaves, a stick, and two small sticks.
When I was doing this task it was hard because when I moved the paper i messed up.

His blog post was about finding material with LS2. My question was What was your favorite martel.
This week I read an article about Fishing false teeth. This book is about a guy named.
Cor shop who lost his teeth. Hugo is a tackle owner of a shop and roald dahl is a taxi driver that is joker. Then we watch a video of two man fishing.
One of the man lost hs teeth. Then the other guy lost his teeth. Our task was to write what you think they are saying.
The video was so funny because both of the man lost there teeth. Here is the video.
This week our task was treasure hunting for supplies.
We watched a video about the nanogirl. In the video she said to look for things that we could use to make something. Then we scavenger hunting.
The thing we found were: Thick cardboard, water bottle, foil, rocks and two class with different weight. LI: to search for the required items.
Our focus for inquiry was to create a net of our protection shelter, transfer that net onto cardboard and use those cardboard pieces to create a model of our structure.
First, our company sketched a 3D net with paper. While doing this, we thought of how to use the paper as efficiently as possible in order to save resources. We then measured the 3D net dimensions onto a bigger piece of paper. Our company decided to draw the parts of the net separately to make the process easier.
Next, we transferred the 3D net onto cardboard and cut out the separate pieces. We needed to use as least cardboard as we could so the other companies could use it. After that, we began using the cardboard pieces to create our shelter model.
We placed the cardboard walls onto the base of the shape and held it together using the popsicle sticks and hot glues to help keep a good foundation in order to keep the structure standing. We also used tape to hold the shape of the walls in place.
Our shelter was a hexagonal pyramid and we found it hard to make because it is a complex shape. Our company found it enjoyable to make and plan out the shelter.

This week we played a game of touch.
We did a passing drill. When doing this drill a group must works together and pass the ball down to the last person. Then we had two groups going at the same time. We had one group passing left and one group passing right while they were walking forward.
Then we played a game of touch. We put all the skill we learnt from coach Mark of a game of touch.
I had fun with coach Mark.
This week we did same task called QAR. QAR stands for, question, answer, and relationship.
This week put all the skills we learned on a game of touch.
First we practised two and three man settles to get ready for a game of touch. Coach Mark told us to aim for one person when driveing the ball down the field.
Next we played a game of touch. The game was for learning how to play and how to use a two and three man settles.
I had fun but I need to work on holding the ball and passing properly.It was fun because I got to chase people when they were about to score.
Today we watched a kapa haka group perform for the school.
The first thing that happened was that they did an entrance ceremony and then started to perform. When they entered they used a conch to let the people know they are coming. Then they would introduce weapons and tools during a song and dance.
The last thing my class did was play a Maori game called Maui and Matua with Matua Ngarimu. We used the rakau's and we would have to move to the left if they said Maui but if they say Matau we would move right.
We thanked the kapa haka group by the boys from our kapa haka group performing the haka.
This week we finished two tasks.
Our first task was called Maori Names - Toru. When we were translating Maori names there are letters that change in the Maori alphabet. For example J - h, d-t, d and l- r, and v-w. Some names I learnt was: Hone is john, and Hana is Hanah.
Our last task was called Maori Conversations. This task was about translating different conversations. For example, "Tena koutou katoa" is "Greetings to you all"; and "Ko John toku ingoa" is "My name is john.
I had fun doing this task.
Depending on the properties of different materials, they can suit certain situations better. The materials
vary depending on the type of natural disaster.
The materials that are appropriate for a storm are: PVC plastic, chicken wire, plaster, concrete and wool.
PVC plastic is a suitable material for shelters because it is flexible and strong. This material
has been chosen to protect against storms because it is firm enough to withstand aggressive wind currents.
Chicken wire and plaster is used to hold the walls and structure together. This material has been chosen to protect
against storms because it can give the structure more protection and strength against strong winds.
Concrete is a suitable material and strong material for the foundation of a structure. This material has been
chosen to protect against storms because it provides a strong foundation for an emergency shelter against storms.
Wool is used for many things, however in this case it is used to absorb water and rain.
This material has been chosen to protect against storms because it prevents people inside of the shelter from
getting wet and causing them to freeze.
It is important to have a good understanding of the properties of materials because this knowledge
can be helpful when designing a strong, quality structure.
This week we translated place names.
The first thing I did was matching the words I knew. For example Mt Richmond is Otuhuhu. Then I used the Maori dictionary to help me figurout the other places. For example One Tree Hill is Maungakiekie.
I really enjoyed doing this task and learning how to say place in Maori.
This week we put all the skills we learnt into a game of touch.
We first we went over settles. We went over two man and three man settles. When doing three a settles we used abc. A is the first runner b is the dumy half and c is the next runer. We keep on changing roles.
Next we went over two man settles. When doing two man settles the runner stays as runner same as dumy half. When the runner pante the ball the they run behind the ball and the dummy half pass back to the runner.
Laslty we played touch. We put all the skills we learnt and put it on the field. We stop when we were playing to talk about what were doing wrong.
This week I finished three task to help me understand reading just like new. This book is a book about a girl that lives in tonga and talks about the what the wormen ware. For example Kie kie and Ta'ovala
The first task I complete was called Table mat. Table mat helps us find information about the book faster. I wrote down my priro knowledge. Then I wrote down my topic. Then I found six keywords. Laslty I wrote my 4 facts down.
Our next task was making connection. There is three things that makes connection they are, text to world, text to self and text to text.
Text to world is a text in the book that relates to the world. Text tgo self is a text in the book that relates to yourself. Text to text is a text in the book that relates to another text from a different book.
Our last task was called synthesis. I wrote my priro knowladge. Then I wrote down some facts. Lastly I wrote down was my new understanding.
I learnt new things about the book but I it was hard doing all the tasks in one week.
Our focus for inquiry was to determine the materials and the amount of the materials we would use to build a model for an emergency structure.
First, we brainstormed a list of materials to use for our shelter model. We thought about what materials we would use for different parts of the structural design such as walls, protection layers, windows and doors.
We knew that the maximum height of the shelter models would be 20 centimeters, so we applied that knowledge to measure the correct amount of materials and which materials would be best to survive a natural disaster.
Next, we measured the other dimensions of our structure to find out the other amount of the materials we would use. Our structure's dimensions were 20cm in height, 66cm in length all the way around and 2cm in depth or width.
We found out the area and volume of the shelter by multiplying the height by the width. To find out the centimetres cubed as the measurement for the concrete, we needed to multiply the area by 2, then convert that to cubic meters.
I really enjoyed… .Our company also found that figuring out the amount of materials needed was difficult but enjoyable.
LI: to prepare materials order for construction.
On Fiday we did a school athletes.
We did 9 activies, some were cool and some were fun.
Our first station was rob the nest. We got our own circle for our nest. We ran up and got one tennis balls from the middle. When there is no more tennis balls then we can rob tennis balls from other teams. There is a tagger who guards the nest. If you get tagged from the tagger you stay still and you have to wait for your team mate to clap your hands. Then we went to long jump. When doing long jump we could not run and jump. We could only jump with two legs.
Our next station was sponge relay. When doing this activity you will get wet. You have to go to the sponge using the sack. Then you have to go under the tarpaulin. Then we you jump over the log fences. Then we you go back but when you get back to the tarpaulin you don't need to go under you can go over then squeeze all the water out into the bucket and go back and give the sack to you next team mate.
There more station like, softball, hula hoop, egg and spoon and frisbee shoot out.
Then we finshed our day with the sprints. My favourite part was all the people who came first in the races from year 5 to 8 race each other.
The station I like the most was sponch relay race because I like gettig wet.
This week for writing we had to say our speech.
My speech was about care giving. My argument that relates to care giving and it's children being allowed to cook. When I was saying my speech I said it fast. I was shy while I was saying my speech. All I need to improve is not look down at my screen while saying my speech and I need the condfidence.
I enjoyed sayng my speech.
On Wedsenday we went to the 2020 Manaiakalani Film festival.
We watched some movies for the Manaiakalani Film festival. We sat at our chairs. I felt relaxed when we sat on the chairs.
Then I had to commented on a rap song about covid nineteen. This ws from Tamaki Collage. This was about people to stay calm while covied nine teen.
My thought on all the movies were cool and funny.

This week we translated people names.
We matched the English words to Maori words. When we were traslating people names some letters were changed. For example Hakopa is Jacob and Haimona is Simon. We had to do the name we knew first.
After that we use the Maori dictionary to figure out the Maori words we didn't know.

This week for reading we did a task called Synthesis.
Synthesis is a task that has prior knowledge, New information, and New undersatding. Then I read a book called white water action. Synthesis is bring ideas and connecting them.
First we had to fill in our prior knowledge. Prior knowledge is what you know about the book already. Then we had to fill some new information. For example Tasmina is named after able tasmina. He is a dutch explor.
Next we wrote a our new understanding about the book. My new undersatnding is that white water action is named for a person that is a champoin at kayaking.
I enjoyed doing this activity because I learnt knew things kayaking.
This week I had to find conection. for text to text, text to self and text to world.
Text to self is something in the text that relates to youself. Text to text is a book and a aonther book for example Mannaki hodges is a kayaker I relate it to chris pither who a racer.
Text to world is like text in the book that relates to the to world. For example I am slow and there are some people around that are slow like me but I great at other things.
This week we had a conversation about what they learnt and what we learnt.
First we had to get partner with someone that didn't learn what you lean. I leant what a Inrterpreting data and frequency. I learnt what Inrterpreting data and frequency. Inrterpreting data is when you explaning how much you collected from the data set. Frequency means amount of things.
Then I teached my partnar how to convet measurement. Then I explained how measuremnt is used. Measuremen are used to find out length, hieght, width using cmm mm, m, and km. When converting measurment you use 10, 100, and 1000. For example 10mm = 1cm. 100cm = 1m. 1000m = 1km.
Then we had to get into new partnes. I learnt time. I learnt that fraction and written algrorithm adds up time. In the units of time is, 60 seconds = 1 minute, 60 minuets = 1 hour, 24 hours is 1 day, 7 days = 1 week, and 52 weeks = 1 year. Time also use am and pm. Am is is in the moring and pm is at night.
Lastly I taught my partner about money. Money is used in the place value system. Place vaue is also used in ten. In money they have dollars, cents, cards. In money they have, 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, 1 dollar, 2 dollar, 5 dollar, 10 dollar, 20 dollar 50 dollar and 100 dollar.
I thought that I was a good teacher and a good student. I also thought that my patners were also a good teacher and student.
This week we did two man setles and three.
First we recapped two man settles. Then we practice two man settles. When doing two man settles the first person plant the ball. The person who plant the ball steps behind the dummy half and the dummy half will pass the ball to the person from behind. Plant is when you place the ball on the floor and step over the ball. Dummy half is the person who pass the ball after a touch.
Then we learnt three man settles. We used abc for three man settles. A is the first runner, B is the dumy half and C is the next runner. When we did this we switch roles. We use two man settles or three to drive down the field.
Then we slowly walked throw how to play touch.
I enjoyed touch.
This week, our company (Shelters Inc) brainstormed ideas for an emergency shelter design. We needed to think of the structural shape and design of the emergency shelter. We also needed to think about what our shelter will be designed to resist. Our shelter is designed to resist strong winds and water pressure.
What programme did you use?
My group used a design programme called SketchUp, that allows people to design and create anything they want in three dimensions.
What shape did you use? Why?
We chose to use a hexagonal-prism for our emergency shelter design. This is because a hexagon is a very strong shape, and it can deflect wind flow.
What material do you think is best?
We decided to make the shelter out of tungsten because it is strong and polyurethane because it is absorbent. We think these are suitable materials for water and wind natural disasters.
What changes could you make?
Some changes we can make is the size of our shelter. We think that the size could be bigger because the shelter looks small and if it is more spacious, people can put more things in the shelter.
How thick should the walls be?
The walls should be very thick, roughly between a meter thick, and made of tungsten. They should be thick so they can withstand aggressive winds and strong water currents. Also because of the wind or water pressure will not break the wall.
How will people get into the shelter? How big will the opening be?
The entrance of the shelter is 3.3 meter tall and 2.3 meters wide so that in case of an emergency, everybody can enter.
Do you need windows? How big/small should they be?
There should be windows so that the people inside the emergency shelter are aware of what is happening and can identify if it is safe to exit the emergency shelter. The windows should be fairly small, about 1.5 meters so that people can see out of them clearly.
On Wednesday some people from LS1 and LS2 went to dunkirk reserve for a friendly touch rugby tornament. Campetition was split into y5, y6, y7 and y8 for different year groups.
Frist we played point england 1. We lost 3 neal. After that we had a brake. Then we played saint patrick's. We won 3 to 0.
Then we played stone fields twice because they had two teams. We lost our frist game with stone field and won our second game. The score was 4 to 5 and and second was 4 to 2.
Lasly we played sylivia park, baily road and point england. We lost that game. It was 3 to 0. Then we played baildy road. We won that game 5 to 1. Our last game was point england 2. We won that game 3 to 2.
The skill we need to work on is communication because we didn't know when they were going to past the ball.
I had enjoyed playing touch with my friend in different schools.
This week for reading we did atask called table mat.
Frist we read a book called white water action. It about this kid thats a three time sliver champion. His name is Manaaki Hodges. Then we had to write our prior knowledges.
Next we we had to write key words. One of my key words were eskimo. Eskimo are people who live in the ice.
Lasly we had to write 4 facts. One of the facts were Manaaki Hodge has been kayaking for three years.
I realy enjoyed learning about a kid that has been doing kayaking for three years.
This week we started planning our speech.
First we had to come up with a greeting. Then we wrote our introduction. Then we tryed to right a rhetorical question. A rhetorical question is a question you already know the answer.
Next we wrote our opinion. A opinion is what you think. Then we list some facts. We had to write a solution to the problem.
Lasly we wrote opinion if they don't want to learn how to cook. Brainstorming is having mutiple ideas.
Today we learned some basic skills for touch rugby.
Frist we learned how to top the ball, catch, and theball.
Afterwards we played passing drills to get better at committing to the ball and catching.
I enjoyed.
Insulators are used to stop heat from moving place to place. Five materials were tested for the ability to insulators : glass, plastic, metal, paper, and ploystyrene.
The best insulators for keeping the best things warm is: Plastic cups and tin cup.
The best insulators keeping thing cool is: class cup, paper cups, and plastic cups.
The best insulators for warm and cold is paper.
This week we were traslating words.
We traslated Maori into English. We used the Maori dictionary if we didn't know the word. One of the words I knew was tane but in English it is boy. One I didn't know was Kaumatau and that means old person. Then we did a task this task is connecting the right meaning to the photo.
This helps me learn how to say Maori words.
This week week for kiwi sport we learnt touch skills. The things we learnt were catching, passing.
Frist we learnt how to catch. Then we did a drill. This drill was moving the ball around our head, around your hips and under our legs. This helps because we can catch the ball, around our head, around your hips and under our legs.
Next we learnt how to pass and catch. We didn't have to spin the ball when passing. When passing to someone they had to be behind you because if they are in front you, it a forward pass.
Lasly we play a game. This game helps us to put all the skills together.
I had fun.
This week for inquiry we conducted our experment.
We did this experment because we were learing to conducted a experment.
We used some material and tools. They are, nappies, stone, stand, paper towels, cotten, beacker, scale, and tray.
First we measured 100ml into a beaker. We used food coloring so we could easily see the water. The food coloring we use was blue. We did five dips of food coloring.
Next we got our materals. The material we used for our experment was paper towels. We weighted paper towels up to 50g.
We tip the water into the paper towels that was in the tray. All the water was absorbed from the paper towel.
This helps me because I know how to conducted a experment.
This week for Maori we translated body parts in Maori.
We highlighted the words on the list we know and the one we didn't know we left it blank.
I didn't highlight any words because I didn't know any of them. This helps me so when we do our body song I know how to say the body parts in Maori.
